Residential Building Permit Plan Review Application

The North Summit Fire District has the responsibility of ensuring subdivisions, commercial structures, individual family dwellings, and other structures meet the requirements of the (IFC) International Fire Code, Eastern Summit County Development Code – Title 11, & the 2006 (UWUI) Utah Wildland-Urban Interface Code. To ensure the safety of our residents and visitors, a North Summit Fire District ‘Letter of Approval’ is required on building, remodel, and lot permits.

A plan review and 1 inspection fee, plus impact fees, are required for all plan reviews and approval letters. An invoice will be emailed to the email you provided on your application. You will be able to pay online (3.9% fee applies to the balance) or via USPS. Your application will not proceed until you have paid all fees.

After all fees are paid by the applicant, the review process begins. NSFD has up to 14 business days for residential projects and up to 21 business days for commercial projects for review.

Process

Please fill out the form below. A Plan Review fee will be assessed to start the plan review process. If you have any questions about the process or the form below, please contact us at (435) 350-3472.

A site plan shall be provided. This site plan must include the location of the nearest fire hydrant (with the length marked & measured by the way a fire truck would drive using fire access roads to your building, not as the crow flies), dimensions of all fire access roads (Grades, lengths, & widths), & dimensions of driveways.

A pre-approval letter needs to be issued, and that is what you will upload to the building authority for permit approval. After the plan review is completed, the approval letter will be sent to the applicant’s email. This approval letter will be submitted to the respective building authority again later when the permit process is underway.

After the permit has been approved by the County, the Fire District will approve and submit the ‘Approval Letter’ to the County ‘eprocess360’ system.

On-site inspections will need to be completed during the building process. See Fee Schedule.
